Beatles VS. Beetles! George Harrison’s Memorial Tree Destroyed By An Insect Infestation!

Talk about irony!
A tree planted in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park in memory of the late great Beatle George Harrison had to be taken down over the weekend…
Because it was infested with ACTUAL beetles!
Oh noes!!!
The 10-year-old, 10-foot sapling died due to being overrun with the bugs. City Councilman Tom LaBonge said plans to replant a tree at the site is already in the works.
For now though, the plaque also laid in place as tribute to the rock star remains with no tree behind it.
Harrison, an avid gardner, died in 2001 of lung cancer. He spent the last years of his life living in L.A.
We sure hope the next tree doesn’t go through the same beetle onslaught! But, sometimes you just gotta live and let die.
Oh wait. Wrong Beatle…
