Dog Owning Outlawed In Iran!

Dog Owning Outlawed In Iran!

Dog owning illegal in iran

And we thought China’s one dog per household law was cruel.

Lawmakers in Tehran have recently proposed a bill in parliament that would criminalize dog ownership, formally enshrining its punishment within the country’s Islamic penal code.

What’s the reasoning?

The bill warns that that in addition to posing public health hazards, dog ownership “also poses a cultural problem, a blind imitation of the vulgar culture of the West.”

Guess they’re right…

Once the Ancient Egyptians (we assume that’s the vulgar west they’re talking about) popularized “companionship” they just couldn’t stop making statues of them.

Everyone knows Egypt wouldn’t be in this political mess if they just had the common sense to not ever have dogs.

So what’s Iran’s punishment for taking care of a helpless animal?

The law would see the offending animal confiscated, the leveling of a $100-to-$500 fine on the owner, but leaves the fate of confiscated dogs uncertain.

Think we have a good guess though.

So sad.
