Since she was a toddler?! Girl, we’re surprised you aren’t an alcoholic right now!
In Lea Michele‘s memoir, Brunette Ambition, she made a number of surprising admissions. Some of which included dating another one of her Glee co-stars, the first time she met Barbra Streisand, etc.!
But the one thing that stood out to Chelsea Handler? It was how old Princess Lea was when she got her first taste of fermented grapes!
When the Chelsea Lately made a comment about Lea being a toddler when she had her first sip of wine, the On My Way singer explained that it was just a normal thing in her household!
She said:
“I’m Italian, so at the dinner table it would be like Pellegrino, a jug of soda and a huge thing of wine. Everyone was just drinking wine, like it was part of what you would have along with your dinner. Growing up, I’d be having dinner with my boyfriend and his parents and I’d be like, ‘Where’s the wine? Pass the wine.’ At like 17! And they’re like, ‘This girl’s crazy.'”
We’re sure they weren’t thinking you were crazy, but they were probably wondering if you’d be a bad influence on their son.
HA!
The Glee starlet then went on to explain how having wine available throughout her childhood was, in someway, a good thing.
She said:
“When they make it so you can have it, then you don’t want it. It’s when they’re like, ‘You can’t have this,’ kids are like, ‘We gotta get that booze.'”
So, obviously, all in all, Lea drinking at such a young age is a good thing since she didn’t feel the need to rebel and go get wasted with all her buddies in high school.
That totally makes sense! Restriction on things just make people want it more, so, we guess her parents had the right mindset?
LOLz!
