Legal Victory For The Seinfelds

The lawsuit brought against Jerry Seinfeld‘s wife, Jessica Seinfeld, was thrown out by a federal judge yesterday.

The judge rejected claims that Seinfeld copied her best-selling cookbook idea, Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food from Missy Chase Lapine, author of The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids’ Favorite Meals.

The judge ruled that both best-selling books “were not similar except for their goal of hiding healthy food inside the favorite meals of children.”

Right, those don’t sound similar AT ALL.

However, the judge decided NOT to rule on Lapine’s slander claims against Jerry Seinfeld for his comments on David Letterman‘s show comparing her to an assassin, saying those claims belong in the state rather than the federal court.

Lapine’s lawyer stated that they do intend to file the claims with the state.

Best of luck, Missy, but it doesn’t look like you’re gonna get the ca$$$h you’re after!
