Regrets.
Love Story actress Ali MacGraw has them.
The former movie actress says that wishes she had agreed to receive alimony from any of her three ex-husbands, including actors Robert Evans and Steve McQueen. Back in the day, it didn’t seem to matter as much, but now that the 72-year-old star sadly no longer makes a living, she deeply regrets not being more forthcoming about her future.
In an upcoming issue of Town & Country, Ali explains:
“I had a romantic, ‘Aren├óΓé¼Γäót I a good girl?’ take on divorce, but the truth is that was stupid. When one stops working at the height of one├óΓé¼Γäós career, it├óΓé¼Γäós just stupid not to say, ‘I want to make sure I have a house.’
I haven’t made a living lately at all. I’m much more famous than I am rich, but I’m able to scale back my lifestyle. I know a lot of people who were where I was who can’t imagine living any simpler, but I haven’t got a lot of expensive wants.
People think it├óΓé¼Γäós fabulous, but the truth of it is that it├óΓé¼Γäós exhausting. There├óΓé¼Γäós so much craziness that comes along with being a movie star that you can get so confused. Unless you├óΓé¼Γäóve spent your whole life waiting to be the center of attention, it├óΓé¼Γäós pretty terrifying.”
It’s too bad that none of her exes insisted on paying alimony either! Lesson learned, indeed. Nowadays, a Hollywood marriage without a prenup/alimony/child support is completely unheard of!
Oh well.
