Lena Dunham‘s mentions are wild right now.
That’s because the 31-year-old took a controversial dig at Donald Trump via Twitter, comparing POTUS to white supremacist and convicted mass murderer Dylann Roof, who killed nine black citizens at a Charleston, SC church in 2015.

Responding to a thread by Full Frontal With Samantha Bee writer Travon Free declaring Trump is a racist, the Girls creator wrote:

As you know, this all comes after the President called football players exercising their right to peaceful protest “sons of bitches” while deeming Charlottesville white supremacist rally participants “very fine people.”
We don’t even need to tell you the threats and insults circulating online in response to her hot take — but she followed up by tweeting the following message:
