Wowza!! This is kinda like an episode of Girls!
After reading some of Audrey Gelman’s twitter remarks in the past week, it’s clear that she and Terry Richardson are SUUPPER done. Over. Without a doubt.
And not only does Audrey regret having anything to do with him, she claimed that her bestie Lena Dunham regretted ever doing a photo shoot with him as well!! MAJOR December dramz here!!
Unfortunately, it seems as though Audrey is still getting Twitter dramz, but before we go into that, let’s recap it up for those who don’t follow the two on Twitter:
Lena is a self-proclaimed feminist who absolutely ABHORS the reports of what R. Kelly does with underage women. She opened up about her feelings on the matter via Twitter, saying:
However, once she did that, many called her a hypocrite for doing a photo shoot last year with Uncle Terr — an alleged sex offender and the (former) boyfriend of her bestie for three years.
Miz Dunham defended herself by tweeting the following:
But like we said, she wasn’t the only one sharing her thoughts about Mr. Richardson!
Audrey also swooped to her defense, and Tweeted:
“re: terry photos, @lenadunham tried to see the good i saw in someone & we both have regrets. the online discourse on these issues is vital and pushes us forward everyday. biased perhaps, but i see lena as a courageous champion of women, a critical voice who scrutinizes and challenges female representation in the media, and most of all, a wonderful and loyal friend. thank you @amandahess @michelledean @irin@annaholmes and others writers I respect for considering these issues with both sensitivity and courage.”
And most recently, Miz Gelman hinted on Christmas Eve that she STILL felt the Twitterverse coming down on her for her past relationship choice. She tweeted:
“The least feminist thing one can do is savage another woman based on their personal romantic choices. More civility and [peace] in #2014 pls.”
Woahhhh Nelly!
There’s a LOT to take from this intense Twitter debate!
Firstly, it sounded to us like Audrey is insinuating that Lena never saw any good in Terry to begin with, but went along with her pal’s relationship choice just to be a good friend!
Secondly, it’s hard to believe that she’s been receiving flack for her relationship on Twitter up until, and most likely through, the holidays!! What happened to spirit and cheer??
Additionally, it seems that Audrey and Terry’s relationship DID NOT end on good terms. Hmm… wonder what really happened???
