It’s never too late to be your true self!
61-year-old former boxing promoter Frank Maloney announced in a weekend interview that he is undergoing a sex change! From now on, she will be known as Kellie.
Maloney, famous for guiding Lennox Lewis to his heavyweight title in 1994 and 1999, told Britain’s Sunday Mirror newspaper:
“I was born in the wrong body and I have always known I was a woman. I can├óΓé¼Γäót keep living in the shadows. That is why I am doing what I am today. Living with the burden any longer would have killed me.├óΓé¼┬¥
After being married twice, Maloney ended a highly profitable run in the boxing world just last year and decided now was the time to make the change. Kellie has been undergoing hormone treatment for the last two years in preparation for the operation.
She explained further, saying:
“What was wrong at birth is now being medically corrected. I have a female brain. I knew I was different from the minute I could compare myself to other children. I wasn├óΓé¼Γäót in the right body. I was jealous of girls.├óΓé¼┬¥
Boxing has given her enough money to afford these sex changing procedures but she also admits the sport helped distract her from the pain she felt inside.
Kellie continued:
“It was something that I was determined to suppress and keep wrapped up because I didn├óΓé¼Γäót want to be seen different. [Boxing] took up all of my time. It gave me a complete focus. It was something I thought I had to be successful in because I thought if I failed in that, where do I go?├óΓé¼┬¥
We’re so happy for Kellie and her new lease on living the life she’s always wanted!
