Instrumental in California’s shark fin ban, Leo urged New Yorkers to give up on shark fins on Twitter.
Now Bill S.6431 has passed through the state Senate’s Environmental Conservation Committee, effectively banning ownership, selling, or transporting shark fins in New York.
With this move, finning may be eradicated in other parts of the world too.
