David Letterman had Brian Williams on his show, and he recounted a story to him.
The story was that Tom Brokaw, before he stepped down, came to Letterman and told him he was retiring. Upon revealing this, he also told Letterman that Williams was to replace him, and that he should look after Williams personally.
So, naturally, Letterman thought Williams was his guy and accepted the job of Protector of Brian.
Letterman, after the tale, went on to say:
“In the meantime, I see you showing up on the goddamn Leno show…I see you on the funny boy Jon Stewart show!” he said. “I am begging you, stop doing those shows. Stop doing those shows!”
This isn’t even the first time he’s made the request!
While Letterman was def delivering this in a lighthearted manner, it still felt somewhat weird. Like, oh we don’t know, jealous rage or something. LOLz
David, have us on and we’ll set Brian straight!!
