Liam Neeson is down for the cause — as long as it doesn’t hurt his paycheck.
On Thursday, The Commuter star sat down with The Associated Press and discussed Hollywood’s gender pay gap problem. This particular topic has been thrust back into the spotlight following the revelations that Michelle Williams got less than one percent of what costar Mark Wahlberg earned for reshoots for All the Money in the World.

Although this controversy didn’t affect Liam personally, he weighed in on the conversation by noting:
“There’s a lot of discussion about it and a lot of healthy and necessary discussion about it because the disparity sometimes is fucking disgraceful… We’re starting and it’s starting with these extraordinary actresses and brave ladies and we as men have got to be part of it. We started it, so we have to be part of the solution.”
Well said. However, Neeson seemed less on board with the cause after the interview asked if he’d be willing to take a pay cut to, you know, even things out.
He expressed:
“Pay cut? No, no, no, no, no. That’s going too far. There has to be parity; there just has to be.”

Tsk, tsk. While we’re glad to see that he’s an ally of a righteous cause, we just wish he’d be willing to do more to bring about change.
Though like Liam we suppose we WOULD rather see women get a pay raise!
What do YOU think?? Should actors be willing to take a pay cut for parity??
