Liam Payne's Friend Roger Admits He DOES Feel 'Guilt' About Singer's Death After Charges Were Dropped!

Liam Payne's Friend Roger Says He Still Feels 'Guilt' About Singer's Death -- Even After Charges Were Dropped!

Roger Nores is opening up.

News dropped on Wednesday that three of the five individuals charged in the death of Liam Payne have been exonerated by Argentina’s Court of Appeals. The suspects let off the hook are CasaSur Palermo hotel staffers Gilda Martin and Esteban Grassi, and the late One Direction singer’s friend.

Roger Nores was accused of abandoning Liam, leading to the negligence charge. He’s maintained his innocence ever since he was accused, but now that he’s been let off, he’s opening up about how he does have massive guilt over his friend’s death.

Chatting with TMZ on Thursday, the former suspect told the outlet that despite being found innocent, he still can’t help from feeling partially responsible:

“You can only do so much, right, as a friend, as a work colleague in their case, and then when something like this happens which is a full on tragedy, you feel responsible.”

He continued:

“You can’t help going, ‘What if?’ … Like, maybe if I would have had this conversation with Liam he would have changed. And the reality is you can only do so much and that guilt that we all feel, it’s not gonna go away.”

Ultimately, though, he called the ruling “great news.” Authorities decided it was unreasonable to assume that if Roger had looked after Liam 24/7, that he wouldn’t have been able to slip away or get his hands on drugs some other way, as addicts are known to do.

Roger also spoke to TMZ about Liam’s father Geoff, who led the charge in accusing Roger of abandonment:

“I can totally understand why Geoff, Liam’s father … You can imagine he was so hurt, he had lost his son. I don’t have any children but people say that’s the worst thing that can happen to you.”

He recently filed a defamation lawsuit against the grieving father, but indicated he’s open to dropping it after an apology. Watch his full interview (below):
