Liam Payne 'Struggled With His Sexuality' Amid Maya Henry Relationship -- How She Caught Him 'Sexting Men'

Liam Payne reportedly “struggled with his sexuality” — and his ex-fiancée Maya Henry learned about this in the worst way!

In a Rolling Stone cover story out on Tuesday, Maya and other sources opened up about the troubling final days of the One Direction star’s life, including the not-so-picture-perfect details of his ill-fated romance with Maya, whom he was linked to on and off from 2018 to 2022.

According to multiple insiders who spoke to the outlet, the 31-year-old privately “struggled with his sexuality.” A source close to the situation opened up:

“Liam struggled with his sexuality. During his relationship with Maya, he sexted men.”

It’s unclear just how long this struggle had been going on — and Maya may never have known had the pop star not accidentally revealed the receipts to her!

According to sources, the 25-year-old author found out Liam was having “sexting conversations with strangers” and she caught him “accidentally broadcasting them to their TV,” the outlet reported. Jeez. Knowing how volatile some other aspects of their relationship were, this must have been a tense situation. Not only was she finding out he was cheating on her, but he was sharing info he clearly wasn’t ready to be public about. Messy…

The source didn’t say when this happened, but they did call the COVID-19 lockdown a low point for the relationship, noting that it wasn’t great for someone like Liam “who had mental-health problems, likely had sexuality issues, already had a drug problem” to suddenly be stuck at home with nothing to do. Oof. So sad.

So many people struggle to come to terms with their sexuality — it’s so common. We’re just sorry Liam was allegedly dealing with so many challenges at once that he felt he had to be so secretive about it. FWIW, the Strip That Down crooner eventually moved on with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, who he was dating at the time of his death. It’s not known if she knew about his supposed sexuality struggles.
