Lily Allen has an idea for some new ink… And it’s inspired from her time in treatment amid her messy split from David Harbour.
The F**k You singer has been going THROUGH it over the past couple months. She reportedly caught the Stranger Things star’s active Raya dating account in December while they were still very much together. Such a betrayal! And it cut so deep for Lily she had to check herself into a treatment center to help cope with her unstable mental health that had been thrown for a loop. But she’s home now and starting to accept things for what they are, and might even get a new tattoo to immortalize the lessons she learned in this rocky stage of life.
In the latest episode of her Miss Me? podcast with co-host/BFF Miquita Oliver, the Smile singer told listeners:
“You know, when I was in my treatment center, there was one thing that I read in this book about self-compassion, which really stood out for me, and I feel like I might even get it as a tattoo. Which is, ‘Suffering = pain pain x resistance.’”
She further explained its significance:
“You have to sit with the pain, and confront the pain, and accept the pain, love the pain, caress the pain … You’ve got to be like, ‘This is painful.’ Like, it’s okay for things to be painful and for you to be able to feel the pain. Don’t try and bat it away, because if you’re batting it away, you’re resisting it, and that will end up being the cause of your suffering.”
That’s deep! And extremely relevant for her unfortunate circumstances. Ugh, poor Lily. But we’re so glad to hear she gained some useful tools while in treatment and is pushing forward.
Over the weekend, DailyMail.com reported that the Thurderbolts star has already found a new girlfriend in 27-year-old aspiring model Ellie Beers Fallon — who, for the record, is 22 YEARS younger than him. That’s nearly half his age! Lily is said to be “very upset,” but is working on drowning out the noise:
“She now believes that whatever David is doing with his life is his business. He obviously has his own issues he needs to work through and it’s got nothing to do with her any more.”
