Lindsay Lohan's Dad Michael Lohan Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting His Estranged Wife

Lindsay Lohan‘s father, Michael Lohan, was just arrested over a domestic violence dispute with estranged wife Kate Major.

According to reports, the film star’s 59-year-old dad was taken into custody in Southampton, New York on Monday after his 37-year-old spouse filed a police report claiming Lohan physically assaulted her. A source shared with Us Weekly:

“He has been following her, tracking her and then choked her and got arrested for it.”

Sharing a few more details about the dramatic arrest, the insider told the outlet Lindsay’s pops was “detained on the street in front of his kids” where he was seen acting “combative” when law enforcement arrived. They also clarified Michael had been charged with “strangulation and harassment” but has since been released by authorities.

As you may or may not be aware, this isn’t the first time things have escalated between Lohan and Major. The estranged spouses have had quite a rocky relationship from the start and their ongoing tension pushed them to officially file for divorce in 2018 after four years of marriage. At this point, though, they are still legally married.

According to a police report about the incident obtained by DailyMail.com, the pair allegedly got into an argument after Kate confronted Michael about his internet browsing history. The Celebrity Rehab alum’s supposed online activity showed he had been searching for escort services in Houston while he was on a trip there. Their spat reportedly got violent from there as Michael allegedly threw hangers at Kate before grabbing her by the neck. She claimed he berated her with names like “braindead whore” as she fought to escape his grasp.

Oh no. This alleged story sounds so, so scary and unfortunately seems to point to a pattern of dangerous behavior.

In since-deleted tweets from 2014, Lindsay’s stepmother once claimed Michael had threatened her with a knife. Major removed tweets the morning after, stating her “emotions were high” and her claims were “not the case.”

In 2011, Michael had another brush with the law when he was arrested in Tampa, Florida, after illegally contacting and arguing with Major at her home; the ordeal ended in him threatening to jump off a balcony while trying to evade the feds. The incident happened just one day after he was charged with domestic violence against his then-girlfriend.

The tumultuous couple shares two sons, 7-year-old Landon and 6-year-old Logan. Lohan also has four children with his ex-wife Dina Lohan, including Lindsay, 33, Michael Jr. 32, Aliana, 26, and Cody, 23. The former reality star and his ex Kristi Kaufmann share daughter Ashley Kaufmann, 24.

We sincerely hope these two can figure out a peaceful resolution to their issues and move on with their respective lives for good.
