Lindsay Lohan Has Reportedly Signed A Record Deal

Lindsay Lohan signs a record deal

When your nightclub venture doesn’t quite work out… and the reality TV people pack up and leave… just go become a pop star! That seems like a viable career path, right?!
Well, if you’re Lindsay Lohan, it might be — because the former Parent Trap star has reportedly signed a record deal with Tommy Mottola‘s Casablanca Records, according to a report out this weekend in Page Six.

The news comes just days after it was revealed earlier this week that MTV has decided NOT to return to Mykonos, Greece for a second season of LiLo’s reality TV show there, considering that the beach club that the show had been based around was apparently closing down. (Lohan claims the club is not closing, just moving, but alas — it appears that the reality TV deal is dead.)
So, Lohan must now find something else to do, and even though it’s been years since she’s had a record deal — she was first signed to Casablanca way back in 2004 as an 18-year-old, when she made the hit album Speak — she’s going back into the studio and it appears music will be her thing again, now!
On that 2004 album, the then-teenage Lohan hit it big with the single Rumors, which was about her dreaded and tough relationship with the paparazzi. The album was actually successful enough to go platinum at the time, and it went as high as No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 that year. A music video to that hit tune Rumors was even nominated for an award that year at the MTV Video Music Awards!
In 2005, LiLo followed things up with A Little More Personal (Raw) which, while it didn’t do quite as well as her debut album, still turned in a respectable top 20 finish with Billboard, despite failing to spawn any real singles that gained significant traction.

Regardless, she’s back in the music game now, it’d appear — and it sounds like she’s ready for things to come full circle yet again!
Think this is a good move, Perezcious readers?! Would you listen to something performed by LiLo this far after her original pop music days as a teenager in the anything-goes early-2000s??
