Lindsie Chrisley Offers Update On Legal Situation & Mental Health After DUI Arrest: ‘I’ve Taken This Very Seriously’

Lindsie Chrisley is speaking out after her DUI drama.

On Thursday’s installment of Coffee Convos, Lindsie, who co-hosts with Teen Mom’s Kailyn Lowry, opened up about stepping away from the podcast last month after her DUI arrest. She kicked off the episode, which is titled Why We Almost Walked Away From Coffee Convos, on a serious note:

“Nothing’s funny about what’s been going on in my life at all … I have been completely off of all social media platforms, I’m not reading comments [and the apps] are not downloaded on my phone. If people are sending me messages, I’m not getting them.”

She went on:

“While I want to acknowledge the fact that we have truly built a community that I value so much, it has been so good for me to step away from the noise.”

That’s definitely very reasonable!

As we’ve been following, Todd Chrisley’s estranged daughter was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia in May on suspicion of DUI less safe, attempting to elude police, improper passing, reckless driving, and speeding. She was booked into the Cherokee County Jail, but bailed out by 4:15 a.m. the same night she was arrested. The 36-year-old explained to TMZ at the time:

“I got pulled over speeding past a car on a two lane road because they almost hit an animal and I was trying to miss hitting them and whatever the animal was.”

She also revealed she planned to “fight the charge.”

Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Lindsie discussed her mental health while addressing how open she’s been about her life with podcast fans:

“I want people to understand that this is a form of entertainment for them, and we genuinely do love doing our job, it is a job and it is a career. When you share so openly things about your personal life in your job, it can cause a lot of problems.”

She went on:

“I do think the emotional state that I’ve been in over the last year, some of that has been from investing in what listeners are saying or investing in what the Reddit folks are saying online and the conspiracy theories and all the things.”

Just weeks before Lindsie’s DUI arrest, her boyfriend David Landsman was arrested for aggravated assault-strangulation.

Lindsie, who asked for “grace” as she navigates the recent developments in her life, carried on the conversation on her own Southern Tea podcast the same day:

“My arrest … is an ongoing legal matter. What I can say on it right now is that I’ve taken this very seriously. I have to focus on, at this point, moving forward, growing and letting the legal process run its course and respecting that process.”

She noted her social media hiatus allowed her to “step back and reflect.”

“I do think that this was, kind of, a hard-stop moment for me to be like, ‘OK everything needs to get in line and s**t needs to be gotten in order because you cannot continue going down the path of operating off of heartbreak and betrayal and lack of confidence.”

She added:

“Like, you cannot continue carrying that every single day because I’m just going to sit in it. I think I’ve sat in it long enough. Not to make light of anything, but it was a great time-out for me.”
