Liz Claiborne Strikes Deals With J.C. Penney and QVC

They are making moves over at Liz Claiborne Inc!
The clothing company announced today that, starting in fall 2010, their mainstream line will be sold exclusively through J.C. Penney. What’s more, the company also recently struck a deal with QVC, in which the Liz Claiborne New York by Isaac Mizrahi, including apparel, merchandise and home products, will be sold exclusively at QVC, also in 2010.
This past September, in the wake of declining profits, Liz Claiborne enlisted Alvarez & Marsal, a consultant firm, to guide them toward improving operations. Apparently, the firm pointed Claiborne in this direction, which has already begun to pay off – Liz Claiborne shares jumped 12.5% after the announcement.
