Lollapalooza HALTED Over The Weekend Due To Stormy Chicago Skies!

Well this must have put a DAMPER on things!
No pun intended!
Okay, yes it was! Ha!
The Lollapalooza Festival was forced to be halted over the weekend after a thunderstorm forced the event organizers to evacuate the concert-goers to parking garages for THREE HOURS until the rain had cleared…all the while Red Hot Chili Peppers were supposed to perform!
Luckily, the band was allowed to play their set when an extended curfew passed, but The Temper Tramps and Alabama Shakes were forced to cancel entirely!
Organizers explained in a statement:

“In all, more than 60,000 festival-goers and nearly 3,000 staff, artists and vendors were safely evacuated in 38 minutes. We want to thank the tens of thousands of festival-goers, staff and artists who calmly and safely exited. We applaud and thank the City of Chicago for their cooperation and commitment to making Lolla a safe and enjoyable experience for all. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for one more day of rock.”

Stinks!
But hey! What can you do?
That’s Mother Nature for ya!
Just glad no one was hurt or injured!
