Uh-oh! It sounds like some serious palace drama has been unfolding behind the gates of Kensington Palace — and this time it’s not coming from the royal family!
According to reports out of the UK via The Sun this week, five police officers have been banned (!!!) from working at royal residences after allegedly making inappropriate comments while assigned to duties outside Kensington Palace, the famous London residence associated with Prince William and Princess Catherine.
While the future king and queen were reportedly informed about the situation, they were not the ones who made the final decision to remove the officers from palace duties — but that doesn’t lessen the shock!
The controversy reportedly began after a female Kensington Palace employee lodged a complaint in October 2024. The complaint centered on allegations that several officers behaved inappropriately on multiple occasions over a period stretching from August 2023 through September 2024.
Among the claims making headlines is an allegation that one officer described Kensington Palace as being “full of Hitlers.”
WTF?!
Another reportedly attempted to connect with the female employee on Facebook. While those accusations certainly raised eyebrows, reports indicate the concerns were not centered on sexual misconduct.
A source told The Sun:
“Comments from the officers were perceived as misogynistic though the allegations were tame and none were sexual in nature.”
Despite the complaint, an internal review by London’s Metropolitan Police reportedly concluded that the allegations did not reach the threshold required for a formal misconduct finding. Still, that didn’t mean there were no consequences.
Senior royal household officials reportedly took the matter seriously enough to revoke the officers’ access passes and bar them from working at royal residences in the future. That’s a pretty significant outcome, especially considering the highly sensitive nature of security assignments connected to the monarchy.
The Metropolitan Police later addressed the controversy in a public statement to Page Six and other outlets, acknowledging that the officers’ behavior fell short of expectations for officers serving in protective roles.
The statement read:
“The reported behavior falls below the high standards expected of officers, particularly those in frontline protective roles. As a result of our internal investigation into this matter, the officers received reflective practice to consider their actions and identify learning for the future.”
The department also emphasized its broader commitment to professionalism, adding:
“It remains a priority for the Met to ensure all officers and staff uphold the highest standards of professionalism, so we can continue to build trust and confidence with those we serve.”
The incident arrives during a period when William and Kate continue balancing family life with preparations for their future roles at the very top of the monarchy.
Although the couple and their children have spent more time at their Windsor home in recent years, Kensington Palace remains an important royal base and is expected to play a major role in their future. So, this is a BIG deal!!

For now, the royal couple appears to be staying well clear of the controversy itself. Still, whenever security personnel assigned to protect royal properties become the story, it’s bound to generate attention.
Palace insiders may be hoping this latest headache quietly fades away, but with headlines like these, that seems easier said than done!
