Ray Diaz — who starred for one season on Lopez alongside comedian George Lopez — has been arrested and charged with domestic violence over an incident in which he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend.
The L.A. City Attorney’s Office has now charged Diaz with four misdemeanors in relation to the arrest: domestic battery, false imprisonment, dissuading a witness, and vandalism.

It’s an interesting and unexpected about-face on Diaz, considering the fact that just days ago, the same court granted him a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend after she brought these allegations.
But now, per TMZ, prosecutors have apparently re-examined the evidence involved in the case and decided to file charges against Diaz.
According to prosecutors, the incident in question happened earlier this summer; during an argument, Diaz allegedly grabbed and pulled the woman, leaving bruises and marks.
He also grabbed her phone when she tried to call 911, and later unplugged an Alexa device that the woman was also trying to use to call authorities — hence the false imprisonment charges tacked onto his court record.

No word on what will happen to Diaz’s restraining order — it likely hasn’t been lifted — but these charges are obviously more serious.
Per reports, the actor will have his next day in court to defend himself at some point later this month.
Scary!
