This is insane!
It looks like Lionsgate and Republic Records are really confident in Lorde, because she is set to hand pick the entire soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1!
Oh yeah, she’s also going to be singing the lead single for the film/CD as well!
May the odds be ever in her favor.
Seriously! Not only is the 17-year-old going to have to record a brand new song, she’s also going to have to fill an entire album with songs that fit the tone/plot of the movie.
The Grammy Award-winning singer opened up about the challenge, saying:
“As someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience. I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people.├óΓé¼┬¥
Hollywood is literally figuratively putting an entire franchise on Lorde’s back.
But, we’re sure she’ll do a swell job. They wouldn’t have chosen her to tackle such a big task if she couldn’t.
The third Hunger Games movie comes out on Nov. 21st, so you can probably expect Lorde’s new single to drop early Fall.
P.S. If Lorde is on board with the movie, we guess she and Jennifer Lawrence must be fine after her little Twitter joke earlier this Summer.
