Emma Betsinger & Mike Gibney

Emma and Mike struggled all season long over one issue: kids. He really wanted to become a parent, and she was unsure in large part because she didn’t know her biological family’s medical history, as she was adopted. The retail merchandiser was born with precancerous birthmarks and had at least 10 surgeries before she turned 7 to remove the high-risk ones. Understandably, Emma had been nervous about passing down any unknown health conditions to her children. She also didn’t feel selfless enough for kids.

Despite not being totally on the same page, Emma wanted to give their love a shot and said, “I do,” at the altar. However, Mike did NOT! He told Emma he loves her, but ultimately, that is not enough for him. He wanted her to commit to wanting to have children, and since she couldn’t, he decided not to tie the knot with her. He said:

“I do love you. Right now, I’m not ready to say I do. I want kids. And I want to know that you definitely, 100 percent want a family with me. I don’t wanna say yes and jump into something and then it changes down the road.”

Wanting to become a dad is totally fine, but Mike probably should have ended things with Emma long before they walked down the aisle if it was a dealbreaker for him! She made it very clear she wasn’t 100 percent certain about having kids, and she likely wasn’t going to make up her mind by the time of the wedding! Just saying!

Emma didn’t seem ready to let go of Mike after he turned her down, though. They sat down for a post-wedding conversation, where she expressed how she saw “glimpses of a family” with him in their future. Mike, for his part, wanted her to be certain now to pursue a relationship:

“If we’re gonna get married, I want you to know that you want a family with me for sure. I don’t want it to be half-ass. And you have your reasons, and I respect them and respect them, but I just can’t say yes without knowing that. So, I’m sorry.”

Ugh! We loved them as a couple! We totally could’ve seen them together in the long run if it weren’t for this roadblock! We’ll see where Emma and Mike stand at the reunion. Perhaps they continued to date! Who knows at this time!

Amber Morrison & Jordan Faeth

Amber and Jordan were up next. Heading into their wedding day, Jordan had some doubts about getting married and becoming a stepdad. He went into Love Is Blind not wanting to be with anyone who had a kid, but he ended up falling in love with Amber, who has a 7-year-old daughter. Amber’s daughter and Jordan met one day before the nuptials, and thankfully they hit it off!

Despite the two getting along so well, Amber’s own brother did not expect Jordan to marry her because he wanted more time. Even she wasn’t sure if he would, but she totally understood the apprehension. However, he decided to follow his heart and say “I do!” They both ended up saying yes! Amazing!

Brittany Wicker & Devonta Anderson

Unfortunately (and fortunately), these two did not make it to the altar. Devonta called off the wedding right beforehand, leaving Brittany “shocked.” They sat down on a couch to hash out everything about what was supposed to be their big day instead. And although they weren’t getting married, Brittany said she loved Devonta and wanted to be his wife. Devonta felt everything between them was “great,” but he had a lot of doubts, explaining:

“I can’t walk into a marriage with self-doubt of ‘Can I love you how you need to be loved?’ I think that’s why I couldn’t get to the altar. I just can’t do it.”

Brittany insisted she wanted to make things work, but they’re taking a slight “pause.” Devonta, on the other hand? He didn’t seem to be on the same page! He still had doubts leaving the conversation, saying he would be “in touch.” We don’t know what happened afterward, but it looks like they aren’t together anymore! Brittany shared a lengthy post on Instagram on Wednesday that she finally sees what everyone else saw with Devonta:

“Miami owes us nothing! This journey brought me exactly what I needed, my girls [white heart]. Reflecting back on the last year, I can clearly see what the world is witnessing that I couldn’t fully see/chose to not accept in the moment. It’s not enjoyable watching myself accept a love less than deserving. Hindsight is 20/20. Y’all I wanted to reach through the tv and slap myself! Thank God for growth. Just remember you are only seeing a small part of the relationship we built, and one that I was continually asked to be patient and have trust in. I had my reservations, and now I’ve learned to ALWAYS trust my gut and someone’s actions over their words. I appreciate all the love and support through this journey”

Here’s hoping Brittany finds a man who appreciates and treats her better!

Ashley Carpenter & Alex Henderson

Ashley gave us one of the best takedowns at the altar we’ve seen on Love Is Blind! And yes, that means she turned him down! Fans know Alex was a walking red flag from the start due to his wishy-washy stories about his career, comments he made on the show (remember that period sex convo, y’all?!), and more! We all hoped Ashley would come to her senses, and she did at the altar!

Although Ashley admitted she fell in love with Alex, the second he hesitated to answer whether he would say, “I do,” she flipped the script and ended things with him first! She told him:

“I know your answer, and it doesn’t matter to me. I know you don’t choose me, and I’m not choosing you either. When we were in the pods, all of our stories, all of our future plans, they aligned perfectly. However, once we left the pods, there was no effort, there was no intimacy, there were no questions that you had for me, and I felt like as soon as we moved into the apartment, we were roommates. Something always kind of felt off. Your stories were so vivid, they were so detailed. You would say a lot of words, but somehow I just found myself more confused at the end of our conversations. Lying is non-negotiable for me, and I’m sure it is for you as well. I lead my life with integrity, which is one of the reasons you told me that you fell in love with me, and I expect my husband to do the same thing. Unfortunately, I do feel like you have missed that mark.”

Damn! As for Alex, he disagreed with her comments about “integrity” and believed her “questions about my past were more to try and catch me in something than really understand me.” She ultimately got the last word in, saying:

“Saying no to you today is a win.”

MIC DROP!!!!

All we have to say for her is, goodbye and good riddance to that man!

Christine Hamilton & Victor St. John

Now on to the couple we have been rooting for since day one of the pods: Christine and Vic. We have known they were a perfect match for each other from the start, so it comes as no surprise that they got married in the end! Vic had trouble finding the right words to say at the altar, but said:

“I never thought I would fall in love in such a unique experiment, and Christine, the moment we spoke in those pods, we just connected…You know more about me than anyone else on this planet.”

Aww! Christine expressed that she was attracted to Vic the moment they started talking in their first 10-minute conversation in the pods, and their connection has continued to grow every day since. She called their love calm, easy, and fulfilling, adding:

“I feel honored that I’m here with you.”

They both said, “I do.” Wonderful! We wish them a lifetime of happiness!

Two of our five couples are married! Not bad! It’s better than last season, when no one got hitched! What are your reactions, Perezcious readers? Any surprises by how the season ended? Let us know in the comments (below)!
