Love Is Blind‘s Tyler Francis has FINALLY spilled the tea on his relationship with those so-called sperm babies — but it’s leaving a lot to be desired!
During Wednesday night’s season 7 reunion of the Netflix show, Tyler was asked to address the speculation about his family life. As Perezcious readers know, during the series, Tyler told his then-fiancée Ashley Adionser that he had helped his friend and her wife have kids, but he insisted he was just a sperm donor and that the children had never met him.

The internet did its thing and quickly discovered that Tyler seemed to be a LOT more than just a donor. He was in tons of photos with the three young kids and even acted as a father figure, his friend and the children’s mother Bri Thomas later revealed in her own Instagram tell-all. She claimed he was a sperm donor for her first child but once her partner left her, Tyler asked to step in as more of a parental figure. They ultimately agreed to it, and he and Bri started a romantic relationship, welcoming twins — who very much weren’t just sperm babies. The co-parents even lived together as a family unit, and Bri was supportive of him going on the reality show. However, she claimed once he left, he cut all contact with the kids!
So, what’s his version of the story??
Tyler started off by insisting he doesn’t “owe anyone an explanation” but he did want to clear the air, he explained:
“Those kids, that family, they did not sign up for this. So, what is happening now is I tried to keep that from happening. Their birth certificates are online. Things that shouldn’t be happening are now happening.”
OK, but, like, did it ever occur to him that the ONLY reason people are doing so much sleuthing is because he lied? Like, if he’d been honest from the start, nobody would have cared as much! Of course, people should be leaving the children out of this but his behavior is why they got dragged into the drama! And calling them “those kids” is shady AF! They’re YOUR kids, dude! At least the youngest two!
Getting into the nitty-gritty, Tyler continued:
“I did help a friend and her wife start a family, but her wife ended up leaving her and left her high and dry. This was my very close friend, so I stepped in, voluntarily stepped in, and helped.”
Okay, so that’s matching up, but that’s about where the crossover ends. Addressing the photos of he and the kids circulating, he went on:
“There are pictures of me around. You’ll see me around. I’ve spent the holidays with all my friends, you know, all their kids. And I played a part that became very shaky with a friend.”
Huh… Getting cryptic!
Defending himself, he continued:
“There’s no rule books to this. There are no set lines to this. But I do wanna let people know [that] Ashley knows all this. This is news to the world. This has never been news to us. And I’m giving an explanation now because I feel like the world is waiting for it. But I don’t owe anyone an explanation but my wife. And … she’s sitting here with me.”
Ashley was just as sick of the controversy as her hubby, sharing:
“Who do you think has better insight on what’s going on? Social media or me? For people to imply that she was blindsided, she didn’t know, is insulting to my intelligence. For the record, this is something he never wanted to share on camera. I just didn’t feel like it would be an authentic experience or I could continue… if we didn’t [discuss this].”
She wanted to talk about it on camera in “some capacity” so there wasn’t a “disconnect” with how she was acting after having learned the news off-camera. That said, she knew “there were things he was comfortable sharing and things he wasn’t.” Calling out his obvious lies, she said:
“You could tell… so of course, he divulged that information to me [beforehand].”
It’s not a red flag to her that he so easily lied about all this?? Cause it would be to us! Ashley went on to excuse his behavior, reflecting:
“With him growing up in a single-parent household… it was very hard for him to remove himself [from this situation] and not be involved when this is now a single mom.”
Again, we can understand where this would apply to the first child, but how does this relate to the twins? As Bri has claimed, she and Tyler got into a romantic relationship and had those kids together. He wasn’t just coming to the rescue to help a single mom who was suddenly stuck with three children. He helped expand the family via “natural, unplanned intercourse,” as Bri has discussed. No matter how complicated his reasoning for getting involved with Bri might have been, it doesn’t give him the right to walk away without any responsibilities.
Ultimately, Ashley doesn’t seem to care, she concluded:
“I know he is a good person who went in a little too deep and didn’t know what to do next.”
How about being a dependable father figure… like he asked to be? SMH.
Tyler got the last word by praising his relationship with his wife, expressing:
“This is not a game, this is ’til death do us part, and we mean it.”
The pair are still happily married with Ashley calling it “a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love” and Tyler gushing about experiencing “unconditional love to this extent […] for the first time.” That’s sweet. They’ve clearly bonded amid all this backlash. But, boy, we know Bri must be feeling some type of way about this version of the story! He’s just going to keep denying his relationship with these kids! Oof.
