Cashel Barnett has been arrested.
The Love Island USA alum, who appeared on Season 1 of the hit reality show, was arrested in Salt Lake City, Utah last month on assault charges. In April, the mother of his child filed a police report alleging he assaulted her earlier that month. And some of the violence was allegedly in the presence of his child.
According to NBC News, his baby momma — whose name has been kept private — tried to calm him down by hugging him during an argument, but he slapped her arms away and then followed her to a bedroom where he picked her up by her neck and slammed her onto a bed. Per the report, he put “continuous pressure” on her neck which resulted in her being “unable to breathe.” She also reported her “vision went blurry.”

TMZ reported during the most recent assault, Cashel forced his hands down her pants and when she tried to kiss him back, he resisted, telling her the act was a punishment. According to the outlet, he asked, “Is this what you f**king want?”
This was reportedly with their 1-year-old child present.
So disgusting. He’s officially been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated sexual assault, and domestic violence in the presence of a child.
In response, Cashel’s attorney issued the following statement:
“Mr. Barnett maintains his innocence and denies any wrongdoing. My client and his family are enduring an incredibly difficult time, and we hope that his privacy will be respected as we work diligently to defend his name and reputation.”
At this time, the 34-year-old remains in jail.
