Abbey Romeo's Mom Calls Out The 'Bulls**t' Rumors About David Isaacman Split

Abbey Romeo‘s mom is clearing up some of the headlines about the breakup with David Isaacman.

If you have not heard, the beloved Love on the Spectrum couple ended their relationship after nearly five years together. A source broke the news to The Sun this month, claiming that Abbey and David could not agree on when to get married. She reportedly wanted to settle down years ago, but he wasn’t ready yet. However, Christine Romeo insists there was no dramatic fight over an engagement behind the split! The momma said in a video posted to YouTube on Sunday:

“Abbey and David had a long relationship of four-and-a-half years … Abbey has grown a ton since she started both social media and Love on the Spectrum. She started to understand her own story [and] see herself as a person with autism in the world, learn how to accept her autism and still try to have a relationship and fit in. None of the growth would have happened without David.”

Christine shared that Abbey learned “so much” while with David, but she ultimately realized that he “was happy in his way of doing life” while hers “was different.” She added:

“I’m personally grateful to David for being a mirror for her to see and figure out what she wants, who she is, what’s [her] love language. The other part of that is please don’t judge autistic relationships as if they were typical. So many people on the spectrum are not going to do what typical people do.”

This applies to even getting married and starting a family. Christine pointed out:

“[People on the spectrum are not always] in it to get married, get a house, get a new car, have children.”

Ultimately, Christine feels Abbey and David had “a great, great thing” and “that’s thanks to the show.” They just weren’t each other’s forever person at the end of the day, and that is OK!

And while the mom knows people are upset about the breakup, she feels they may be “missing the point on Abbey and David.” She explained while shutting down the bulls**t rumors about conflict over an engagement:

“I think they will have a forever-bond. There was no fight. By the way, all the headlines — bulls**t. Just so we can be clear over that. There was no fight over engagements and rings being thrown around.”

In fact, Christine mentioned David and Abbey never fully talked about getting engaged before the split:

“You know, Abby would say she wanted to get married, which really meant I want to feel like a normal person in the world and do what they do in their relationships. It was almost like having a party, not the idea of like moving in together. And they didn’t even do a lot of that stuff or talk about it.”

Christine wants the talk about the breakup to be “positive” moving forward and for people to understand “how beautiful this was” because, for both of them, they’ve experienced a lot of “growth” while together and will continue to do so now that they’re no longer a couple. An important reminder! We continue to wish Abbey and David nothing but the best! Watch the entire conversation about the split (below):
