Luigi Mangione’s mom is speaking out… And not saying great things for his case!
In the latest update from the suspected shooter of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s case, we’re hearing from his momma — and it sounds like the crime is something she CAN picture him doing!
During a press conference announcing the terrorism charges Luigi was slapped with on Tuesday, the New York Police Department’s Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny spoke about a missing person report the 26-year-old’s mom Kathleen filed for him on November 18 in San Francisco. Less than a month later, the murder was committed, and the PD received an anonymous tip regarding the security footage of the suspect grinning in a hostel… The tip being that the man in the video resembled Luigi. So after receiving it, the FBI and NYPD apparently reached out to Kathleen on December 7. And what she had to say wasn’t promising for her son…

Kenny explained during the conference:
“They had a conversation where she didn’t indicate that it was her son in the photograph. But she said it might be something that she could see him doing.”
Oof. So she wouldn’t outright say it was her son in the security footage, but she said shooting the CEO was something she COULD picture him doing. Yikes.
Kenny added that before the info could even be passed along, they caught Luigi:
“[It was] going to be passed along to the detectives the next morning, but fortunately we apprehended him before we could act on that.”
As of now, Luigi’s attorney Karen Friedman Agnifilo has not responded to the revelation.
Thoughts, Perezcious readers?
