Beauty aspiration ahead!
Lupita Nyong’o‘s skin radiates from within in her new Glamour beauty spread, and if you’ve been dying to know how she got that gorgeous glow, you’re in luck!
The 12 Years A Slave actress shares her skincare regime with the mag, saying:
“I love using natural oils. I use avocado oil and Hawaiian Kukui Oil on my face. I like to keep things natural, simple, and straightforward.”
Hawaiian Kukui Oil? Consider it bought in bulk! Ha!
The 30-year-old also recalled how she fought for makeup to be worn at her all-boys high school, saying:
├óΓé¼┼ôI went to an all-boys high school, and they accepted girls in only the two A.P. classes. They had these archaic rules: For example, girls couldn├óΓé¼Γäót wear makeup. I found it so outrageous that an all-boys school could tell girls to not wear makeup! So I went on a campaign. I got a petition signed and everything. If a girl wants to wear makeup to boost confidence, why not?”
But she doesn’t need makeup to feel good about herself! She said:
[But] I’ve worked hard to feel beautiful in my natural skin. Personally, I don’t ever want to depend on makeup to feel beautiful.”
On the other hand, she’s not afraid to go big & bold before red carpet appearances. She explained:
“I love color. I├óΓé¼Γäóm enjoying trying all different shades. Makeup isn├óΓé¼Γäót something I├óΓé¼Γäóve worn a lot of in my life. So it├óΓé¼Γäós good to work with someone like [makeup artist] Nick Barose, who is inspired by my complexion and knows how to work with it.”
And when it comes to her hair, she’s all about being casual. She said:
“The first time I cut all my hair off was when I was 19. I just got fed up going to the salon every week. I├óΓé¼Γäód had enough! On a whim, it was off. It├óΓé¼Γäós low-maintenance.”
Everything she’s doing is working out FLAWLESSLY!
