OMG, we didn’t think we could be any more excited for Star Wars Episode VII!
But we are now!
LucasFilm has just announced its two newest cast members- Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie!
Lupita took the world by storm in her Oscar-winning turn in 12 Years A Slave, and Gwendoline is killing it (often literally) as Brienne of Tarth on HBO’s Game Of Thrones! The force is definitely strong with these two!
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement:
“I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII. It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”
Wow! We had heard a rumor about Lupita a while back, but she wasn’t mentioned in the big cast announcement. Does this mean other Star Wars casting rumors we’ve heard could turn out to be true??
