At the Golden Globes on Sunday, host Ricky Gervais made a joke referencing Sir Paul McCartney‘s messy divorce from Heather Mills.
“We were on the same plane to get here. I was in first and he was behind me in coach,” said Gervias. “Well, he spent a lot of money last year.”
Although he was a little nervous about it, Ricky was relieved when Macca said he loved the joke!
“I was worried about the Paul McCartney line but then he came backstage and hugged me and said he loved it, so that was OK,” divulged the funnyman. “Never p*** off a Beatle – rule 1.”
