The breach of contract legal battle between Macy’s and Martha Stewart raged on this week.
On Monday the department store responded to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc.‘s claims that they failed to “maximize net sales” of her branded products, which they say is not true.
According to Macy’s sales from third-party licenses, including Martha Stewart Collection “actually increased”.
The department store also shot down Stewart’s accusations that they used her products to draw in customers to increase sales of their own private label products when in actuality sales “essentially remained the same”.
And what about Martha’s claims that Macy’s turned down additional designs leaving “untold profits on the table”?
They called shenanigans on that one too.
Geez. All this “he said” “she said” is making our head spin!
Both parties are due back in court for more bickering on March 8th.
