An international pop star and Madonna still has time to do her civic duty?!
QUEEN!
Although Madge was reportedly 30 minutes late, the iconic singer took time out of her busy schedule on Monday morning to attend jury duty, a yearly obligation that Americans are required to attend.
However, unlike us normal folk, the Material Girl received red carpet treatment when she arrived at the courthouse.
Madonna was surrounded by two court officers, three policemen, two bodyguards, and an assistant.
If you’re going to jury duty this week, don’t expect to see Madge serve on the same jury as you — or anyone else for that matter!
Many of her fellow jurors were disgruntled over her special treatment and complained that her accommodations were totally unjust.
A court spokesman did explain why the Like A Virgin singer was allowed all these accommodations, saying that allowing Madonna to arrive an hour later would cut the distraction and allow her to still serve.
Ah, to live the life of a pop star!
A court source reported that the 55-year-old performer is expected to be released from her service after a brief appearance at the courthouse.
Looks like those involved in any cases will be missing out!
