Maksim Chmerkovskiy got the ultimate present for his birthday this year — his baby boy, Shai!
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday in honor of turning 37, the Dancing With The Stars pro couldn’t help but gush about fatherhood and the importance of appreciating the little moments even when things don’t go your way.

Chmerkovskiy went on to explain how being a dad has given him a “bigger purpose than ever before”:
