Mama June's Daughter Chickadee Reveals Shaved Head After Cancer Diagnosis

Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell is getting very vulnerable amid her cancer journey.

As we’ve been following, Mama June‘s oldest daughter was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in January after complaining of stomach aches. By the time doctors ran tests, the cancer had spread to her liver, kidney, and lung. The 28-year-old started chemotherapy the next month, per TMZ, and her family is “very hopeful” she will pull through. It remains unclear how much treatment she may have to undergo since her medical team is waiting to see how she reacts to the first round until they make future decisions.

As you can imagine, the chemotherapy is already taking a toll on Chickadee’s body. After beginning to lose her hair in chunks, the former TLC personality decided to shave it all off — and now she’s showing off her new look!

According to The US Sun, the reality star shared a photo of her shaved head on Reddit (though it appears it may have originated on TikTok) sometime this week. In the picture, she posed in an orange t-shirt and glasses while revealing her new buzzcut with a soft smile on her face. Take a look:

Wow. She’s putting on such a brave face.

Fans on Reddit were quick to send their messages of support, writing:

“She’s beautiful. Life isn’t fair and she was never dealt a good hand. Prayers for her and her kids.”

“Her eyes are breaking my heart. The fear she must have is so sad. Life is so unfair!”

“Aw I’m happy for her. I’m sure it’s a difficult change but hopefully it’s at least a little freeing.”

Such kind responses! Life truly is so unfair sometimes.

According to a family source who spoke with TMZ on Friday, Anna is also shopping for a wig to deal with her hair loss, but her main focus remains on recovery. The mother of two is doing everything she can to fight this disease, including changing her diet (such as cutting out sugars and eating more protein). Unfortunately, she’s currently having difficulty eating because of numbness in her tongue.

The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo alum is also having trouble sleeping at night, causing her to take several naps throughout the day. Because of the challenging road ahead of her, Anna quit her job as a car salesperson so she can use all her energy on getting better. We’d imagine she also wants to spend her time with her children Kaitlyn, 10, and Kylee, 7.

As we previously reported, Mama June is said to be “stepping up” to help her daughter and be there for her grandkids during this difficult time, despite the pair’s previously estranged relationship. We are continuing to send Anna so much love and strength as she faces this battle.
