What the what??
Adam Armstrong changed his name to dodge an airline fee.
Yes, you read that right. But, he has a pretty good reason. The student had planned a vacation with his girlfriend, but when her dad booked the tickets, he accidentally reserved Adam’s ticket under the name “Adam West”.
Ryanair clearly didn’t see it as a simple mistake, since they decided to charge the student a fee worth about $336 to change the information!
Holy cow!

But, the 19-year-old wasn’t about to accept defeat.
He changed his last name to “West” through a deed poll and ordered a new passport, so his ticket would match his identification.
The new moniker cost Adam about half the amount of the fee, so he managed to save a pretty penny, he just couldn’t save his old name.
