Oops.
Marc Jacobs went against the CFDA model guidelines by casting at least two girls under the age of 16 in his fall show on Monday.
Since the guidelines are merely suggestions Marc just ignored them he doesn’t think anyone should tell him how to run his show.
He told the New York Times:
“I do the show the way I think it should be and not the way somebody tells me it should be. If their parents are willing to let them do a show, I don├óΓé¼Γäót see any reason that it should be me who tells them that they can├óΓé¼Γäót…There are children actors and children models for catalogs and stuff, so I guess if a parent thinks it├óΓé¼Γäós O.K. and a kid wants to do it, it├óΓé¼Γäós fine.”
He makes a valid point, but how does he know it’s not the parents who are pushing a modeling career on their daughters? And what about school?
Thoughts???
