OK, we just have to preface this whole thing by making something super clear: we are NOT on Marco Rubio‘s side. Even in a fight with Alex Jones.
But it’s like Alien vs Predator up in here right now; they’re all monsters, but only one is going to destroy all life as we know it.

The party-line senator was giving an interview outside the congressional hearings on Facebook and Twitter on Wednesday when he was ambushed by the InfoWars host.
Rubio at first tried to ignore the conspiracy theorist’s ravings about “shadow bans” on conservatives, eventually saying:
“Who is this guy? I swear to God, I don’t know who you are, man.”
That was until Jones patted his shoulder.
Then Rubio went all stand-your-ground on him, saying:
“Don’t touch me again.”
And when Jones sarcastically said he didn’t want to get arrested, Rubio replied:
“You won’t get arrested, I’ll take care of it myself.”

After Rubio walked away, Jones is quoted as saying:
“Go back to your bathhouse.”
Homophobia isn’t new for Alex, but thanks for the reminder.

Later on in his own livestream he continued to use homosexuality as a pejorative in Rubio’s direction, saying:
“It’s OK that Rubio’s gay and he has to act tough.”
Here’s some of his schoolyard antics as recorded by one of the morbidly curious reporters who actually stuck around:

If this is the voice of conservatism silenced by the shadow government, WHY DO WE STILL HAVE TO HEAR HIS HATE???
Ugh. Aliens.
Later, Rubio gave a quote to a reporter about the kerfuffle:
True statement from @marcorubio on his run-in with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones: “I know you’ve got to cover them, but you give these guys way too much attention. We’re making crazy people superstars. So, we going to get crazier people.” (Via @tedbarrettcnn)

Watching Marco Rubio verbally destroy Alex Jones almost made me forget that he is a horrible human being who is paid by the NRA and doesn’t care about the people of Florida…
Almost.

Things Marco Rubio will pick a fight with:

NEVER forget that when the GOP and "conservative" media was forced to choose between the two factions that Marco Rubio and Alex Jones represent, the majority clearly chose the path of the overtly insane person… https://t.co/jsYB0K6Gez

A fight between Marco Rubio and Alex Jones is sorta like a battle between gonorrhea and syphilis. Regardless of which prevails, you're gonna be left with a revolting stench, physical discomfort, and conversations that are ungodly awkward.
