Mariah Carey's Latest Album Debut On The Charts Is Disappointing To Say The Least

What’s in a number, anyway?!
So, the final numbers are in and Mariah Carey‘s Me. I Am Mariah├óΓé¼┬ª The Elusive Chanteuse sold 58,000 copies in its first week, which put its debut behind Coldplay‘s Ghost Stories and Brantley Gilbert‘s Just As I Am.
That’s right, it’s only at number three right now. Welcome to bummer town, population: Mariah.
To put that in perspective, Mariah’s last non-holiday themed album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel also debuted in the third slot — but with 168,000 copies sold.
That’s more than twice what Chanteuse was able to rake in. Rough.
What’s even worse is that in the UK it only sold 6,547, and debuted at number 14.
Uh, what’s up England? Mariah performed All I Want For Christmas Is You in Love Actually‘s soundtrack, a film that took place mostly in London, so yeah…what gives? This is how you treat our favorite chanteuse?!
Well, we hope her numbers rise in the next couple of weeks!
