Jenny McCarthy has about 2017 bones to pick with Mariah Carey!
During her SiriusXM show, the 44-year-old discussed experiencing the diva’s New Year’s Eve performance fail in person — and called the songstress out for pointing the blame afterward!
On Tuesday’s The Jenny McCarthy Show, the comedienne talked about what it was like being in Times Square after Carey severely botched her performance during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

McCarthy, who has co-hosted the holiday special for the past seven years, recounted the awkwardness, explaining:
“Mouths [were] hanging open, everyone [was] shocked. We only gave you a shortened version of that. We had to go through another song of her walking around. It was just, it was so bad…
After considering the technical problems that were allegedly responsible for the mishap, McCarthy found empathy for the Elusive Chanteuse, continuing:
“I know what it’s like to have your prompter go out. I know what it’s like to have my inner ears go out. It’s scary, I know what it’s like when your brain malfunctions and you’re on live TV. So I was like, you know what, I have sympathy for her.”
However, Jenny’s empathy stopped the second Carey and her team accused Dick Clark Productions of “sabotaging her performance.” She explained:
“Dick Clark Productions has been doing this show for 45 years. So for [Mariah] to defame them was so incredibly insulting for the group of people who work their balls off preparing and rehearsing for their musical guests.”
Being at the event in person, McCarthy insisted that the performance fail was due to the fact that Mariah didn’t put in the proper rehearsal time in beforehand, noting:
“The truth of the matter is, Mariah didn’t do a sound check, she said it there. She did whatever you would call like a dance move rehearsal, holding her gold microphone, and she stood off to the side of the stage while she had a stand-in do a sound check.”
She has a point there — even Mariah said it herself when she was supposed to be singing Emotions!

Even McCarthy’s husband Donnie Wahlberg chimed in, blasting the diva for not owning up to her lack of preparation. He said:
“Dick Clark built his whole empire on music and artists and performances. Those guys make you rehearse and rehearse and rehearse. I heard Gloria Estefan out there rehearsing. Last year, I heard Demi Lovato rehearsing 10 times.”
As for what really went down, McCarthy believes the We Belong Together singer was too far away from the prompter and “could have possibly not been able to see the words to her own song” — but insisted that “it’s completely unfair and bullsh*t” for Carey to shift the blame to DCP!
If Mimi somehow responded to this interview, we’d have a feeling it would be just to say she doesn’t know who Jenny McCarthy is! Ha!
