We’re glad Ryan Seacrest is putting in his two cents!
On Thursday, Ryan took to his radio show to dish on Mariah Carey‘s disastrous New Year’s Eve performance. Seacrest’s take on the situation comes on the heels of major controversy surrounding Carey’s epic fail — including allegations of sabotage and technical problems.

According to the radio personality, he believes the singer’s flub was due to “technical” difficulties. Ry, who has hosted Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve multiple times, also commented on how difficult it is to perform in Times Square.
The 42-year-old host explained:

“I’m just catching up on all this, but there’s been a lot reported about the performance in Times Square for Mariah. And, you know, just to talk about it for a second, it is difficult to perform in Times Square. She had done it before because she was the first musical guest that we had had live when I started doing the show years ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ about a decade ago. So she had seen it. She knows what Times Square’s about. It’s complicated. ├óΓé¼┬ª Imagine every single outlet ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ TV outlet ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ in the world is there, so there’s all kinds of technical things going on.”

Fair enough.
Ryan also added:

“For Mariah, I was up there at the stage to introduce her on the same stage she performs on. And it’s live television, and things happen on live TV, and, you know, if something goes wrong, it’s unfortunate for anybody.”

Uhhh, unfortunate might be an understatement! We’re not sure if Mariah will be able to bounce back from this…
Do YOU think Seacrest is making excuses for the entertainer?
