The world is praising Martin Freeman‘s performance as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, but absolutely no one is praising the putrid joke he made during a recent interview!
The Sherlock sat with a Danish TV reporter and stuck his hairy hobbit foot all the way down his own mouth!
When the reporter tossed the accomplished actor a softball about whether he’d rather date an elf, hobbit, or dwarf, Martin thought it would be appropriate to make a joke about rape!!!

Whaaaat?! THAT JUST AIN’T COOL, MARTIN!
Rape is one of the most seriously heinous crimes ever and it’s hard enough for victims to find the courage to come forward already!
We definitely don’t need people making horribly unacceptable jokes like this! And, sorry, prefacing your tasteless joke with “some people might get mad, but…” does not make it any better!
Hopefully The Hobbit star does the right thing and apologizes to everyone he offended!
