Watch out, Oliver Stone! Now Martin Scorsese has got a Wall Street movie on the way too!
After a solid collaboration on Shutter Island, Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio have teamed up again for The Wolf of Wall Street, which had been in the works at Warner Bros back in 2007.
Sopranos/Boardwalk Empire writer Terence Winter is attached to pen the script.
The film is based on author/former white collar criminal Jordan Belfort’s memoir about his “dramatic rise and fall on Wall Street, along with his hard-partying lifestyle and tumultuous personal life, which included drug addiction.”
Here’s what Jordan Belfort had to say about the project:
“After almost four years in development, I can’t begin to tell you how thrilled I am to finally be working with Leo and Marty on this. They’re the ultimate dream team, and it was definitely worth the wait.”
Sounds great! The Scorsese/Leo combo is generally a recipe for success…we’ll certainly be going into this one with high expectations.
