Emilio Estevez took to social media on Thursday to let fans know that his father Martin Sheen was recovering after a successful heart surgery that took place over the weekend.
The 53-year-old actor wrote of Sheen’s condition:
“My Pop! Successful proactive quadruple bypass surgery this week! A great Blessing indeed!”
In the pic from the hospital room, Charlie Sheen‘s dad gives a thumbs-up as he holds up a heart-shaped pillow.

On the official Facebook page for their flick The Way Of The Movie, Emilio penned:
“Martin extends a big thumbs up and a BIGGER heart felt ‘THANK YOU’ for all your well wishes and prayers. He wants to wish you a very Merry Christmas and sends you all a mighty blessing!”

A insider shared that Charlie — who recently revealed his HIV-positive status — also visited his father in the hospital on December 14 alongside his brother.
Martin and his actress-producer wife Janet have four children — Emilio, Charlie, Ramon, 52, and daughter Renee, 48 — and 10 grandchildren.
