Mary J. Blige To Play Nina Simone

Mary J. Blige has signed on to play legendary jazz singer Nina Simone in Cynthia Mort‘s Nina.

The story centers around Simone’s relationship with her assistant Clifton Henderson, who will be played by David Oyelowo.

Filming is scheduled for this fall.
