Matt Damon‘s father Kent Damon has passed away after suffering from complications related to multiple myeloma, a blood disease that affects bone marrow.
He was 74 years old.

Kent Damon (pictured above, left, with Matt in the foreground on the right) passed away on December 14, according to reports, though it was only just revealed on Saturday morning by multiple outlets.
Kent had been battling cancer for quite a while, and although he had successfully fought it for some time, his condition had apparently worsened in recent months, to the point where he succumbed last week.
Matt Damon, of course, has been mired in controversy over the last few weeks after making some unfortunate comments about sexual harassment and misconduct earlier this month.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole Damon family at this point.
