If you’ve ever ordered a Big Mac and found yourself thinking “This would go really great with some carrot sticks,” your dreams may have finally true!
McDonald’s has announced that they are making some super-sized steps to try and make their menu a bit more healthy by offering fruit, veggies, and side salads as a substitution for french fries!
The fast food chain decided it was time to make a change in hopes of promoting better eating habits, especially with their advertisements aimed toward children!
McDonald’s will still offer soda with Happy Meals, however, they will only have ads that show kid’s meals with milk and juice. They will also try to make veggies and fruit more appealing by offering them in more brightly colored packaging.
Some of these options are already available in places such as France, but they’re hoping to roll out their healthier menu in more locations over the next few years!
The company has been criticized lately for their marketing campaigns, but they’re hoping that by changing their message, they can undo some of the damage and promote healthier eating habits!
Although we’re not quite sure that a greasy hamburger and a side of apple slices qualifies as a healthy meal, this at least looks like a step in the right direction!
