OMG, this is so FETCH.
After months of gossip around the Hollywood halls, we can officially confirm that Means Girls is ACTUALLY being remastered for its Broadway debut!
According to Ms. Norbury’s Tina Fey‘s husband, Jeff Richmond, he and his wife are currently in the VERY early stages of production for the musical version of the classic teen movie.
Jeff, who will be writing the Mean tunes, spilled:
“It’s actually becoming a thing! We’re taking meetings with people; I’ve profiled Broadway folks, who are talking to us about it. It’s a long process ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ a year, two years, however long it might take. We watch Smash, so we know how it works! It’s all just laid out structure-wise right now. That’s how early we are. Because you have to take a three-act structure and turn it into a two-act structure and start thinking about it like that, and we’re working! We’re working on it, okay?”
We know, right?
This is the best news we’ve heard since we discovered the Plastics wayyyy back in 2004!
Rachel McAdams is probably busy filming some sort of award-worthy performance, but we can just imagine Lindsay Lohan practicing to audition her rendition of On Wednesday’s We Wear Pink in between court hearings. LOLz!
In the meantime, we’ll just watch it for the 405,604,103,030th time.
