Calling all supporters of marriage equality!
California’s Supreme Court’s ruling on whether or not the Court will overturn Proposition 8 will soon be decided, and the freedom fighters from the Courage Campaign are asking for your support!
The group has organized “Meet in the Middle for Equality,” an event to take place in Fresno, California, the Saturday after the court ruling!
Here are the deets, according to the Campaign’s website:
Join the Courage Campaign and more than 70 other organizations for “Meet in the Middle for Equality” — a day of dignity planned for the first Saturday after the California Supreme Court releases its decision on Proposition 8. Regardless of whether the court upholds or overturns Prop 8, people from across the country will be gathering in the middle of California — Fresno — at 1 p.m. on that Saturday.
California’s Central Valley population is far more reflective of national attitudes towards LGBT equality├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ and until we engage the communities of Middle America, we will not achieve full equality in California.
While we don’t know when the Supreme Court will rule exactly, Californians need to be prepared to commit right now to go to Fresno on the Saturday after the decision is announced, no matter what that decision may be.
This will be a moment you don’t want to miss — an unforgettable moment in the history of the marriage equality movement.
