Meghan Markle Guest Edits The 'British Vogue' September Issue -- But You Won't See Her On The Cover

This is yet another huge milestone for Meghan Markle!

The 37-year-old is taking on the role of guest editor for one of the most prestigious magazine issues of the year, British Vogue‘s September issue, marking herself as the first in that role in the magazine’s 103-year history!

The announcement was made on the Duchess of Sussex’s joint Instagram account with Prince Harry on Sunday (below):

Via the Sussex Royal IG, the new momma thanked editor-in-chief Edward Enninful for the honor:

“Guest Editing the September issue of British Vogue has been rewarding, educational and inspiring. To deep dive into this process, working quietly behind the scenes for so many months, I am happy to now be able to share what we have created. A huge thanks to all of the friends who supported me in this endeavour, lending their time and energy to help within these pages and on the cover. Thank you for saying “Yes!” – and to Edward, thank you for this wonderful opportunity.”

As seen (above), you’ll notice Meg doesn’t grace the cover of the publication, but it was for a reason the EIC noted in a statement via People:

“From the very beginning, we talked about the cover — whether she would be on it or not. In the end, she felt that it would be in some ways a ‘boastful’ thing to do for this particular project. She wanted, instead, to focus on the women she admires.”

Instead, the Duchess of Sussex chose 15 women making a positive difference in the world to cover the glossy, which is titled “Forces for Change.” Among them are Laverne Cox, Jane Fonda, Gemma Chan, Salma Hayek, and 11 others.

Such an awesome concept!

In a statement, Archie Harrison‘s mother expressed gratitude for the chance to be a part of the upcoming issue:

“These last seven months have been a rewarding process, curating and collaborating with Edward Enninful, British Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief, to take the year’s most read fashion issue and steer its focus to the values, causes and people making impact in the world today. Through this lens I hope you’ll feel the strength of the collective in the diverse selection of women chosen for the cover as well as the team of support I called upon within the issue to help bring this to light. I hope readers feel as inspired as I do, by the ‘Forces for Change’ they’ll find within these pages.”

Aside from the inspiring women on the front page, readers will find a heart-to-heart between the former Suits actress and former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, a candid conversation between Prince Harry and Dr. Jane Goodall, as well as articles written by Brené Brown, among others inside the mag.

Sounds like this is going to be a great read! Are U excited to pick it up, Perezcious readers? Sound OFF (below) with your thoughts!
