Meghan Markle & Her Father Have Had Their 'Ups & Downs' -- But They're In A 'Good Place Now'!

Meghan Markle has a complicated relationship with her father, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t excited for him to be at her royal wedding.
As you likely saw, last week, Kensington Palace confirmed that Thomas Markle Sr. WILL be present at Prince Harry and Meghan’s nuptials on May 19. In fact, the cinematographer will even walk the Suits actress down the aisle at Windsor Castle‘s St. George’s Chapel.

This update completely contradicts the scathing letter written by half brother Thomas Markle Jr., who claimed the 36-year-old was estranged from their shared poppa and didn’t invite the Markle patriarch to her wedding. While things have been complicated between Thomas Sr. and Meghan in the past, it appears that the twosome aren’t currently estranged.
An insider confirmed this to be true, as they spilled to People:

“Meghan loves her dad. Like any father-daughter relationship, there have been ups and downs over the years. But they are in a good place now.”

Mr. Markle, who worked as a lightening designer on shows like Married├óΓé¼┬ªWith Children and General Hospital, got divorced from Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland in the ’80s. He lives away from the limelight, thanks to a quiet life in Mexico.
Nonetheless, Thomas Sr. wasn’t absent from Meghan’s life during her fundamental years, as a former Immaculate Heart classmate revealed:

“…her dad was such a sweetheart. He did the sets for our plays, which was a huge thing for us, and he would volunteer his time even after Meghan graduated. She was close with her parents. They were affectionate.”

As for the her brother’s claims that her desire for fame has left the elder Thomas destitute?? The first source defended:

“She’s been supportive of him in every way, including financially. She has paid many of her father’s bills over the years.”

It sounds like Meghan’s half sibling was stirring up trouble for attention. We’re glad everything is settled, as Harry is slated to meet Thomas Sr. for the first time in the days to come. Mr. Markle will also be introduced to Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles of Wales, Duchess Camilla of Cornwall, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.
Harry has already become acquainted with Doria, as she even joined the love birds at the Invictus Games in Toronto in September.
Hopefully, no other estranged relatives attempt to spoil Meghan and Harry’s big day. Nine days, everyone!!
